Happy New Year!

New year, new blog, new me! I know, I know, New Year’s Resolutions very seldom get carried out (and I have been one of those in the past). But I am so excited to be starting this blog with the best friend that God made my sister, and it has inspired me to commit to my resolutions with a new found vigor! Since they say you are more likely to stick to your resolutions if you have someone to be accountable to, I have decided to make that person you (I know you must be super honored)! 😉 I will update you throughout the year because I am definitely sticking with them this year. Hopefully!

– Get healthy. It is the number one resolution that people tend to make, and it is my number one resolution too. The big 3-0 is creeping up on me at an alarming rate. A secret that is not so secret: I gained a lot of weight when I was pregnant with my two sweet babies and not all of it went away. As my thirtieth creeps up on me, I am determined to do something about it. I am not so naïve as to think that I will be exactly where I want to be at 30 (it is just two and a half months away), but I would like to be on my way! I have started keeping a food and exercise journal and have been exercising 30 minutes a day. So far, so good!

– Make a housekeeping plan and STICK TO IT! I love to make schedules, and I do have a housekeeping schedule but if something happens to keep me from completing my daily tasks, my super weird side comes out and forbids me from doing those said chores on a different day. (Yes, I know it sounds crazy.) If I ever get off track, it is very hard for me to get back on again. This year I am going to do my best to rearrange my tasks according to our week ahead of time so that it will not throw me off track. Who will really be bothered but me if the bathroom is cleaned on Wednesday instead of Monday, right?

– Less time online and more time in real time. I know it’s ironic for someone starting a new blog to say, but I want to spend more time with those around me and less time with those in virtual world. Don’t get me wrong, I love my internet. But I only get my family the way it is right now for a very short time, and I want to soak up every moment I can. Therefore, I am limiting myself to one hour per day after the kids are in bed.
