Focusing on What’s Important

I had the most productive weekend. Guess what I did? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Not in the laundry, cleaning, to-do list type of way, anyway. I spent the whole weekend spending quality time with my sweet family, and I loved every minute of it!
IMG_1754I have been so focused lately on all of the things that aren’t getting done the same, and I started out thinking that I would have a great family night on Friday and then be super focused on the house on Saturday. Every time I walked by someone though, the response was, “Sit with me for a minute?” How could I say no? About the third time this happened, I realized that maybe this was God’s way of telling me to focus on what is really important. I decided that the laundry, housework and anything else I thought could wait. I was right, it didn’t run away and I’m sure will still be here tomorrow for me to do. The moments I spent with my family, however, will not.

We colored, we read books, we watched movies and jumped on the trampoline. Most importantly, we were together and completely in the moment. I can get so caught up in what housework and such that I have to do, but when it is all said and done, I would much rather my children remember a mom who always made time for them than one who always kept a spotless house.

Remember that the little things we do with our children today will be the big things they remember tomorrow. I hope you had a great weekend with your family!

Wishing you a Life Full with those who you love most!
